Boseman Buffer

Status

The project is located in Edgecombe County, NC along three tributaries to the Tar River. The site comprises agricultural and forested areas. The Boseman Buffer Mitigation Site reduces sediment and nutrient loading into the tributaries and downstream Tar River. It will also improve terrestrial habitats along these streams by establishing riparian corridors and allowing the land to undergo natural succession to forested community types. The project will restore vegetative buffers and remove rotating crops and fertilizer inputs.

The project was planted in 2020 and is in monitoring year three.
