About
Bridgers Nutrient Offset and Buffer Mitigation Site (Project) is situated in the Lower Little River watershed of the Upper Neuse River Basin. The Project is located in northwestern Wayne County, approximately one and a half miles southwest of Nahunta, NC. The proposed Project will provide riparian buffer mitigation and nutrient offset mitigation in the Upper Neuse River Basin outside Falls Lake Watershed. The Project will address agricultural runoff by reducing sediment and nutrient loading into unnamed tributaries of Buck Swamp. The mission of the proposed buffer and adjacent riparian area restoration is to improve water quality through ecological enhancements within the Neuse River Basin. This will be accomplished with specific goals to reforest riparian corridors, support streamside habitat, reduce agricultural runoff (i.e., nutrients, sediment), and protect the conservation easement (CE) in perpetuity.
The project is currently under development.
