River Green Preserve
Status
The Property consists of approximately 22 acres of primarily pine, hardwood, and mixed pine hardwood forest. The Property is north of a residential development and the Army Corps of Engineers Allatoona Recreation Area.
There are some young pine stands that are on the southern portion of the Property. Mature hardwood cove forests make up the northern portion. The mixed pine hardwood stands are scattered throughout. There is a well-defined road system throughout the Property as well, with one main road leading to a lift station. The road edges are covered in early successional vegetation including invasive Species.
The Property falls within the Etowah Watershed. The Etowah River begins in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Dahlonega and flows about 150 miles south to its confluence with the Oostanaula River at Rome. The Property lies just south of the Etowah River. Its upland areas slope downward to the north and west and drain into the river.
Please note the River Green Preserve real estate has been sold – You must contact the current landowner for access. Despite the sale, the Conservation Easement remains in perpetuity.
